Me: “Loretta Lynn raises dudes?”

Her: “Well, they had a bad crop last year. Planted them too deep, so they all died.”

    So my other half and I aren’t the only ones who think that way! We can laugh ourselves silly just by taking signs literally. There’s a place near us called the Goldfinch Cafe. I’d expect to tables to have perches instead of seats and the menu to list different kinds of birdseed.

    I’ve been told that only smart and creative people think this way (that would certainly cover Lum) and that only socially maladjusted people think this way (well, that covers me). I call it “thinking outside the Matrix” — seeing things as they are rather than as social consensus says they should be interpreted.

    Come to think of it, that pretty much defines why we’ve loved Lum for all these years.
