Terra Nova does have some of the most notable names doing academic research into online games posting there. The blog isn't their only work, they also publish papers (most of which are linked from the names on the right-hand side). They even have the occasional industry person (although they tend to stop posting since they have, you know, real work to do). Sure, this may not be a supreme honor, but it is something to note.
