No, You Should Not Ask Mr. Jennings

Apparently having a pedophile with my name in the news wasn’t good enough, now it turns out that I also have a namesake who works for the Prince of Darkness.

In this clip, Rep. Bruce Braley (D-IA) grills her on a PowerPoint presentation (pdf) given by Karl Rove’s deputy Scott Jennings to GSA personnel in January.

Loan doesn’t have a good answer for Braley’s questions, stuttering out “I don’t recall”s and something about how the meeting was a “brown bag lunch” for the purpose of “team building.” You should “ask Mr. Jennings,” she says.

The Comedy division of the Greater Jennings Imperium is already on the case. We’re revoking the franchise for the Pointless Powerpoint Bureaucracy division POST HASTE. After all, you expect quality from the name Scott Jennings, right? (Don’t answer that, you.)

    uh…

“a PowerPoint presentation (pdf)” ?!? Surely “ppt”?

And is this better or worse than the paedophile?

  • Please

Pedophilia has always been a better alternative to working for Karl Rove. But I was under the impression that you were a Rovite Lum? Shrug

  • Njal

    We expect quality rants.

    > But I was under the impression that you
    > were a Rovite Lum?

    No, I’m a conservative.

  • Skelanth

But what does this have to do with the promised mmog?

  • Sumyung Guy

This is a loaded question, but if you’re a conservative, then what is the Bush Administration and Karl Rove?

Sorry, but I wanted to get that answer from a real conservative who I respect…that being you.

  • scottj

Well, the Bush administration seems rather enamored with running up huge deficits, running roughshod over the checks and balances of the various legislative/judicial branches, and, oh yeah, invading and occupying other countries. None of these are hallmarks of conservatism. “Neocon” maybe?

It helps that I’m a fiscal conservative/social libertarian, which is a dying breed. The Rove branch is social conservative/fiscal liberal (lower taxes, raise budgets! Everyone wins! Only, not.)

Like you, I am a fiscal conservative/social libertarian. This does not make us “conservatives” that anybody would recognize. Most people call us “the enemy” because people tend to identify who’s against them before they find commonality.

It’s also rare to find people who would agree that your fiscal philosophy identifies you politically: it’s much more often your social philosophy that does this. That is why Rove is considered “a conservative” in the news.

  • Rattran

It’s okay, he’s really a J. Scott Jennings, so you can claim plausible deniability.

You may already know such things, as I’m sure you google yourself regularly, but in case you didn’t:

According to my research the Greater Jennings Imperium has a growth rate to rival rabbits.

Oh, and your spell check doesn’t like the words google or imperium.

You know what’s funny? I read a interview with Rockefeller the IV (the head of the Senate Intelligence committee) whining about how he, being on the intelligence committee, didn’t have access to same intelligence as white house staff, which I found pretty laughable and decided the reason must be white house staff gets powerpoint presentations while he gets printouts.

  • Kohs

Maybe it’s this Scott Jennings who taught Karl Rove how to dance.
    /shudder

  • Soulflame

    fiscal conservative/social libertarian

I think a lot of people identify themselves this way. There’s also the issue that no one left in the political landscape subscribes to anything even remotely resembling this way of thinking. Nowadays it’s bread and circuses with a nanny state, or an authoritarian state, albeit with less bread.

    Helluva choice, dontchaknow.
