I think the most unfortunate thing about the internet's role in all of this is that rather than giving all people a voice and enhancing the so-called "marketplace of ideas" it turns out it just muddies the water and makes it impossible for anyone to point to anything that can be accepted as "fact." Anyone can say anything. And thats a problem when people will believe anything. The amazing experiment has only served to make people so complacent as to be more busy gobbling consumer products than worrying about anything else. Democracy gives what people deserve.
