Someone Isn't Paying Attention To The News

somehow numerous lending agencies are still out there advertising what seems to be Bad Idea Lending™ (wholly owned subsidiary of Bad Idea Jeans™.

On the other hand with home prices like they are I was thinking of buying a second place… can you send me that link? :-)

No laws have been changed, directives still in place.
    Business as usual.
This isn’t a Republican or Democrat thing. They both have plenty of blame here. Our politicians have failed us, and continue to.
It’s little wonder that America is grasping at straws in search of change.
I might write in “Joe the Plumber”.

  • xzzy

If you’re gonna write in anyone, write in Stephan Colbert. That at least might earn a sideline on some news story if enough people did it. Not that they tally write-ins, but it could happen.

I keep floating the idea to undecided people as an option, unfortunately it’s hasn’t gone well. I guess people still have the silly idea that their vote is worth something.

ditto what Amaranthar said – until laws change we will likely see a marked increase in this crap – hell, look at cnn’s website … i don’t think i see anything but shady mortgage offerings on there.

I understand not having a horse in the race. I understand not liking either choice. I understand choosing the lesser of two evils. But to believe that there is some unbreakable parity between the two presidential candidates that leaves you “undecided” is to prove that your mind is composed entirely of delicious vanilla pudding.

I don’t see a problem here. It’s good that they are offering mortgages. We want them to do that. We just don’t want them pushing things like the negative amortizing Pick-a-Payment plan (where you end up owing even more money after each regular payment) that they lost all their money on.

  • coppertopper

Yes because everyone who clicks that link will automatically get an adjustable rate mortgage up to $500k no questions asked…

I’m pretty sure every bank has mortgage apps on auto-response “DENIED” until banks are actually solvent again, or you have 20% down and you can provide proof of 6 months living/mortgage expenses in the bank.

Another brilliant topic that should be removed before potential employers get a whiff.

You want to suck brains, don’t you!
I am not undecided, for what it’s worth. But my choice of lesser evils still gives me plenty of reason to speculate on fictional alternatives. But that makes my mind turn to pudding, so….

There did seem to be a just over a week of “you want a car, let us give you money!” etc ads. Then they started thinking “in socialist America, loans save you”. Given the way every channel I turned to at 1am this morning was advertising some way of getting money without insurance or good credit I suspect they are now going to compete to get to the bottom of the pile in the hopes that whom loses wins the next xmas hamper.

Incidentally – is that her daddy’s bail-out money the lil’ girl is making houses out of or is the $3 house a little “in joke” with all the home owners in the US?

  • Drey

The $3 house she has is what your house is currently worth.

  • Tesh

The election is a horse race? I’m doing it wrong, then. Must be all that pudding I ate.

Oh, and choosing the lesser of evils is still choosing evil. Just in case that wasn’t obvious. There are other choices; that’s what is nice about this country. Fear the day when you are compelled to vote and you can only choose one of the state-sanctioned flavors of the same arsenic pudding.
