No, my argument, or more appropriately food for though, is this: why would people, people that lived and walked with the guy, throw away their lives and let themselves be persecuted, when it would have been easy to walk away and not spread the word?
If Jesus was just a charismatic teacher, wouldn’t they have just scattered after he died?

For the same reason people followed Jim Jones, Marshall Applewhite, Jerry Fallwell, Jim Baker, etc..etc.

People want to believe there is more because death and the unknown scares the shit out of them – it hardly takes more than charisma to build a following and once you have one the people tend to lose their grip on rationality.

The funny thing about all that is IF that was all the guy did, and He got crucified for it, wouldn’t His believers have scattered like the wind and been done with it? Why did they sacrifice themselves into persecution for spreading the word of Jesus’ deeds if there was nothing more to it. If He died, the story dies. But He didn’t stay dead, and thus His story didn’t die like it otherwise would.
Just something to think about, I’m not interested in your war. But I will give you credit, when it comes to baiting, you are a master.
