It's Windows 7 Day!

  • SamTheOne

    I literally laughed out loud.

I’m seeing underlying social commentary about just how prevalent piracy is on the PC platform. Probably unintentional.

Pre-reaction: You are evil, not another Microsoft party video!!

Post-reaction: LOL. I want to see the face of the PR guys after they see this.

Great vid, best part: “Where’s my tiny chair?!”

Funny video. May Vista die a quick death.

I like that all the actors in the gag video seem more natural and real than the actors in the original video.

Microsoft really needs to get a better advertising department. They can polish Windows 7 until the cows come home, but Apple will continue to have better advertising.

    Needs more Windows 7 Whopper:

  • http://dsob.wordpress.com geldonyetich

That whopper and Windows 7 may have a lot in common: Sure, the whole concept may disgust you at this point, but it will nonetheless win people over by its sheer capacity to overpower the user.

Has the original video been determined to be a “viral” piece of marketing from Microsoft yet? Not viral in the traditional sense, but more that marketing knew how silly it was and how it would be widely made fun of. Surely they made it knowing full well that it would be laughed at, but more importantly, that bloggers and websites would eat it up. Heck, a BBC article about Win7 even commented on the video.

And because of the last one posted here, I watched it intently focused on the clock. They first lose it/go to retakes about a minute in, and then it gets really bad from there, but nowhere as bad as the W7 one.

    Mmmm space cakes.

    Where’s my tiny chair…?

  • EpicSquirt

Good improvements, but still missing basic things like bash (Powershell is awful) and a window manager with built-in features like “stay-on-top” etc.

Can see why most Korean games are MMOs or online, and free. With the insane amount of pirating that goes on here its the only way to make money. That and it works well with the pc bar culture.
