“If only 0,25% …” That’s kind of familiar what some boss said about any big game hit like guitar hero, GTA etc. Surprisingly, everything copied for that reason failed. Hint for shotguns and miniguns: you should at least direct to an area at least possible containing a goal you can penetrate with your bullets. Otherwise the 0,25% becomes a 0,0025%, and another question here for the number folks: how long will how many those converted users stay?
Btw.: could we just announce SL as dead, and go on to other topics please? We adult enough to know its hype is over, aren’t we? (Any business people here?)

While the mass media hype may be over, SL still has subscriber/user numbers/revenue comparable to any 1st tier MMO not named World of Warcraft.

To be fair to World of Warcraft, wouldn’t such MMOs pretty much by definition be second tier?
For what it’s worth, Second Life really is something substantially different from Diku clones or facebook games. Too bad for Linden Labs, the thing that it happens to be is also apparently substantially harder to monetize, so it’s no wonder they’re trying to fool people into playing by dressing it up in social game clothing.
