ANARCHY ONLINE TO SHIP NEXT MONTH, READY OR NOT [Author: Lum the Mad]

Funcom is announcing a ship date for North America of June 27 for Anarchy Online.

We’ve held off on previewing Anarchy Online since it is still, in my judgement, too early to tell whether or not it will be able to carry off what it promises to. I probably can’t describe in further detail without breaching the beta’s NDA, but to be frank, it’s nowhere near ready. If it is released in its current condition, Funcom has a disaster on their hands.

Up until this point the developers have said “it will be released when it’s done.” However, now apparently following in the long established tradition of MMOGs, the beta for Anarchy Online should end six months after it appears in stores, which would be sometime in December.
