Here’s what Tyrant posted to COB last night about the Chessy downings:
The service outage we are now experiencing is the latest in a series of malicious attacks on the Ultima Online service. The result is that tens of thousands of UO subscribers were unable to enjoy UO this evening. The servers will return to service as soon as possible and we will maintain the service as best we can. We deeply regret these outages and are working as diligently as possible to find a remedy to this issue.
These attacks are denying service to all dedicated UO players and we are taking the entire situation with the utmost seriousness. We have independent security consultants on call to assist us, and we have already begun the process of acquiring more robust security hardware. Law enforcement is involved also. We can only ask for your patience and understanding at this time. We will keep you updated as to our progress in this matter.
Finally, we can only reiterate how powerful you could be in helping us identify the responsible parties. If you have any information that will help ORIGIN locate these people and put an end to these attacks, please send your specific tips and leads to the following email address: protect-uo@owo.com. We will endeavor to protect the anonymity of any one who sends us information.
