Sunsword had a late night last night fixing the house exploit.
I’m sorry that I haven’t been here to post about this earlier. I’m actually “on vacation” so I had a hard time getting permission to post as “SunSword” from a remote site. Anyway, I’ve put in some preventions that stop anyone from redeeding a house or transferring it for a short time. Once all the servers go down from maintenance and come back up, all house functions should resume, but the exploit should be gone. We apologize for the harm the exploiters caused.
I did learn some interesting things fixing the problem though, and will be able to apply it to all new game systems.

As you probably guessed, I can’t comment much on how it worked.
I can, however, tell you that I believed I have solved the problem and we will all be monitoring very closely. The solution does not require passwords :). Just more sophisticated security.
